Tavanic 500 mg
Tavanic is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Tavanic belongs to a class of drugs known as quinolone antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
Tavanic treats only bacterial infections. Tavanic will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections.
Tavanic is known as a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. Levofloxacin works by helping to kill the bacteria which are causing the infection. Levofloxacin kills bacteria by inhibiting the DNA replication.
It can be used to treat various types of bacterial infections such as acute bacterial sinusitis, urinary tract infections, infections of the prostate, gastroenteritis, etc. It may be used to treat pneumonia, tuberculosis, meningitis, or pelvic disease in conjunction with the use of other medicines. It can be administered orally or intravenously.
Tavanic exerts its effect by the inhibition of bacterial topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase enzymes. These enzymes are required in the process of DNA replication, transcription, and recombination. By inhibiting these enzymes, it prevents the proliferation of the bacteria.
Take the tablet with a glass of water, with or without food. Do drink plenty of fluids throughout the day when using this medication. Take the drug at the same time of the day, each day.
